Start of Fisher Boats
1967 – Fisher Boats was founded by Clifton Miller in 1967 in West Point, Mississippi. It was one of the forerunners in all welded and all aluminum boats.
1972 – Fisher Marine entered the market with the Water Strider 15 Deluxe – a basic 15′ fishing boat featuring 2 swivel chairs.
1978 – Fisher Boats included an expanded offerings to include the updated with their Water Rover 3, Water Strider 3, Water Pacer 3, Marsh Hawk 3-V and the 3-V Pro. Their line eventually included Mod V, Deep V, and Utility fishing boats, as well as pontoon boats.

Acquisition of Fisher Marine
1990’s – Brunswick Fishing acquires Fisher Marine. Brunswick produced the Fisher, Monarch, and Spectrum brand boats. The Fisher was an all aluminum boat and the Spectrum used the same aluminum hull but included a wood floor.
1996 (June) – Tracker Marine Group acquires Fisher Marine and Spectrum brands.
1998 – Spectrum series models were formally discontinued and folded into Fisher label. They changed to the Fisher Avenger and Fisher Hawk series.

Fisher Marine is Discontinued
2009 – This was the last year that boats were sold under the “Fisher” Brand. Models included the Pro Avenger, Pro Hawk, Guide, Marsh Hunter, Liberty, and Freedom. Production was halted after 2009.

The Fisher Liberty Boat (Fisher Boats’ pontoon model) ceased production under the ownerhip of Tracker Marine Group in 2009. Although they are not the same model, it appears that the Sun Tracker pontoon boats resemble the Fisher Liberty Pontoon Boat now if you wanted to buy a new similar pontoon boat.

Liberty Pontoon Boats

Liberty series incorporated luxury and comfort. They are available in some length options. The Liberty 180 which is the entry level pontoon boat in the series is about 19 feet 11 inches in length and 8 feet 2 inch in width. Liberty 200 is 20 feet in length with 8 feet 1 inch width. The Liberty 240 is equipped for both entertainment and fishing. The 25 feet 9 inch pontoon boat has a width of 8 feet 1 inch and has room for 12. The Liberty Pontoons have an all anodized heavy duty aluminum frame. There is padded sun lounge and aft entry ladder. They also have a 9 foot Bimini top. The Liberty pontoons have 36 Quart cooler. There is marine grade carpeting and upholstery. There is bow seating in port and starboard. There is also the L seating in the aft. There is ample under seat storage. They have removable table. The Liberty Pontoons also have the wheelchair access gates. The Liberty 200 and 240 models also feature a pop up changing room. Freedom Pontoon Boats

The Freedom models from Fisher are intended for families to have maximum fun. They are available in the lengths 18 to 24 feet with width ranging from 8 feet 1 inches to 8 feet 6 inches. The Freedom models also have the all anodized aluminum frame. They have 11 foot Bimini top. Other features are similar to Liberty Pontoons like cooler, seating options, storage, etc. The Deluxe models in the range are luxurious and spacious.
