Premier Escalante

best double decker pontoon boats Premier Escalante

I am going to start by saying that this is a really, really nice boat. With a really, really nice boat comes a really, really hefty price tag, to the tune of over $130,000. If you are STILL not scared by the price then please by all means feast your eyes on this beast! This is a really big boat – there are four seating areas on this pontoon— a lounge towards the front of the boat, a lounge next to the captain’s chair, a back seating area of the boat, and last but not least, the “party area” of the boat on the top deck. You are welcome to sit up there but most of the time we see people either sunbathing, jumping off the boat, or using the slide from the top deck. The Premier Escalante double decker even has a small kitchen, which really make this boat the ultimate party vehicle on the water, and it means you can stay out on water as long as you like. The upper deck on this pontoon offers shade for the bottom deck, but the upper deck also has a Bimini top set up for times when you’re not up for being in the sun too much. With a Suzuki engine, a fun slide, a crazy length of 32ft, and so many more features, it’s no surprise this double decker pontoon costs an arm and a leg, but if you have the money, this will definitely make you a hit in party cove!

With the pontoon boat slides, you can stay cool in the scorching summer. By investing in the best slides, you can have safe fun. In this article, we will see some of the best options of pontoon slides for your pontoon boat.

Types of Pontoon Boat Slides

Pontoon boat slides are mainly of two types: fixed ones and inflatable ones. The fixed water slides are a main attraction of double deckers, where the upper deck features the slide usually made from durable fiberglass. Thereby, they have the advantage of offering much more height for your fun sliding. They come pre-installed during the construction phase of the pontoon boat. As handled professionally, they are a much safer option if handled within weight restrictions and safety guidelines. They also offer a great appealing look to your pontoon boat. The double deckers can cost you more, but they can double your fun. Now, if your pontoon boat doesn’t have an upper deck, then you can still have it installed by companies that offer such services. J’s Upper Decks is a famous manufacturer of upper platform decks for pontoon boats if you intend to add an upper deck to your pontoon boat. They offer pontoon slide kits made of fiberglass.

Inflatable pontoon slides on the other hand are more common and cheap means of having the fun associated with water slides on a pontoon boat. Some of the maintenance tips for achieving the best use of pontoon boat slides, both in case of inflatable and fixed counterparts are mentioned below:

Fixed Pontoon Slide

The fixed slides are already well built with durable materials. They require less maintenance. However proper maintenance and good care can make you spend less on repair and related costs.

  • Make sure that the surface is cleaned regularly.
  • Periodically check for scratches and other damages. If you notice any damage or loosened parts, contact the service provider for getting the necessary altercations done.
  • During winters when you plan to keep it away, you can keep it brand new by using a UV protector spray.

Inflatable Pontoon Slide

Inflatable pontoon slides can also be easily taken care for so as to extend their term of use.

  • Deflate the pontoon slide when not in use. Make sure that no air remains in the chambers.
  • Dry the pontoon slide fully before you fold the slide. Or else, there is chance for mold and mildew formation.
  • You need to fold the pontoon slide and store it in a dry place, away from the sun. Though most pontoon slides are UV resistant, you need not have to over expose the stuff. It is better to store the pontoon slide in a dark, dry place when not in use.
  • Check the pontoon slide periodically for any holes or damages and use repair kit if needed.
  • During winter when you plan to keep your summer toys away, you need to wash the material with soap solution. Also, using a UV protector spray can keep the surface new.

Pontoon boats usually come in different sizes and have various features which influence their price. Other factors like the trim level, floorplan, and the boat’s engine can impact the cost of a pontoon boat. Fortunately, these vessels come in different categories; hence, there is always something that suits all budget plans.

It is not entirely possible to pinpoint a standard price for pontoon boats. This is because the price of a used pontoon boat will differ from the price of a new model. The price of a fishing pontoon boat will also vary from the price of a pontoon boat built for luxury. Generally, however, most pontoon boats will sit between $10,000- $80,000. While most popular models will fall between the $20-40,000 range.

Factors That Determine The Price Of A Pontoon Boat

Many factors determine the price of a pontoon boat. For instance, a pontoon boat with 300HP will cost far more than a pontoon with a 150HP engine. Also, the size, quality, and features will affect how much one will need to pay.

Below are some of the factors that will affect the price of a pontoon boat;

The Length

Pontoon boats come in different models, and all of these models have distinct lengths and sizes. The length of a pontoon boat is a huge determinant of its price because the bigger the boat, the more people it can hold.

Also, a more sizeable boat will offer a better quality of ride and ample storage space. Not to mention that a bigger pontoon boat comes with a better motor engine.

However, a  short pontoon will measure between 10-20 feet and can only carry a horsepower engine of 25-150. Large and mammoth-sized pontoon boats, on the other hand, measure between 25- 30+ feet. And, their engine ranges from 150HP – to 300HP, which will lead to increased cost.

The Floorplan

An important factor to consider before whipping out money for a pontoon boat is the floor plan. There are many floorplans on several pontoon boat models on the market. The design and features of the Boat’s floorplan will greatly impact its price.

The floorplan of the pontoon boat is like the boat’s internal layout. It is dictated by furniture placement on board and comes with different designs for different purposes. Many pontoon boats have the usual floor plan, which is a captain seat, rear lounge, and front lounge. However, some pontoon boats have added features like fishing chairs and a bar top. Such models are more expensive.

Engine Size

The engine of a boat serves as its powerhouse. Hence, a pontoon boat with a bigger engine will cost more than one with a smaller engine. The size of a pontoon boat usually determines the size of its engine.

That said, pontoon boats have a variety of boat engine sizes ranging from 25HP- to 450HP. The engine of a pontoon boat alone can set one back with about $6000-$80,000. Hence, it is crucial to factor in the boat’s engine size when shopping for a pontoon boat.

The Trim Level

The trim level of a pontoon boat is often referred to as the classes or series. Many manufacturers offer several trim levels on their models. With each trim comes a higher number of standard features.

For instance, high-end level trims on a pontoon boat will include top-grade furniture, digital controls, GPS units, high-power audio systems, etc. Needless to say, a pontoon boat with high-end level trims will cost more than one with medium or low-level trims.

Extra Accessories

Other accessories that one may need to factor into the budget includes toys, safety gear, trailer, and flares. While some of these accessories may be optional, others may be mandatory by law. Hence, it is essential to check in with the state’s boating law to have a well-planned budget.
