1. Summerville 32” Round Stainless Steel Outdoor Propane Gas Fire Pit Table
Our top choice for pontoon fire pit is the Summerville 32″ round Stainless fire pit. The main reason we chose this as our first choice is because they still actually manufacture it and it is available for purchase! Seriously though these reasons are why we like the Summerville Firepit for our pontoon boat:
Pros:
- Lightweight – Most patio fire pits are heavy. When the main intent of a fire pit is to sit still on a stationary patio, heavy is good! When on a pontoon boat, heavy is dangerous! The light weight of this fire pit allows you to carry it on board and is safer than a heavier fire pit while the boat is moving.
- Small – Pontoon boats are known for having plenty of room compared to a traditional V hull boats, but they still don’t have a ton of room for a fire pit. The compact 24″ diameter of the Bali Outdoors fire pit suits a pontoon boat well.
- Round – The last thing you want on a moving pontoon boat is sharp corners. The round shape of of this fire pit helps to ensure that you won’t bang your knee on the table too hard at least!
Cons:
- Glass Rocks – The fire pit comes standard with fire glass. Again, it probably works and looks good on a patio but we don’t recommend the fire glass when setting this up on your pontoon boat.
- 20 lb. Propane Tank – The Bali Oudoors fire pit is designed to connect to a 20 pound propane tank. If you have the ability to attach a large propane tank to something sturdy, and you are willing to keep a 20 pound tank on your boat, then you are good to go! Otherwise, if you want to change to a smaller 16 oz propane tank, you will need to purchase a conversion kit such as this DozyAnt 1 lb to 20 lb Propane Tank Adapter.
3. Not Made For a Boat – The fire pit is not specifically made for a boat so you will have to make some adjustments including potentially fastening it to the deck using brackets like the Hubbell 1-Inch Strap.
Also, you may want to purchase a fire extinguisher strap to hold the 16 oz propane tank underneath the fire pit.
