Pontoon boats are well known for being a source of fun on the lake. Due to their minimal wake and (sometimes) smaller outboard engines, pontoon boats are perfect for lounging and coving with rafts at the back of the boat, as well as tubing across the lake. This list was made to demonstrate some of the best pontoon boat accessories out there – inflatable floats fun for floating and hanging out at the lake or ocean! From personal experience I am a big fan of the BIG float pontoons – those that fit at least 4 adults, but I am a fan of “bigger is better” so we even feature a 12 person pontoon float in our line up. Additionally, sometimes people appreciate being able to move around themselves while floating in the lake behind a pontoon boat so we have selected the best floating noodles and saddles as well.
If you are in a rush here are a few of our favorite inflatable floats:

1. Bestway Hydro Force Tropical Breeze – 6 Person Floating Island
The Bestway Coolerz Tropical Breeze 6 Person Floating Island Inflatable Party Island is not the biggest tube, or the most extravagant tube, but the combination of awesome features puts this inflatable at the top of our list. It comes packed with features including a removable sun shade, back cushions, cup holders, as well as a built in cooler. If you own this raft you would have a hard time leaving the lake!
2. Rubber Dockie Floating Water Mat
Sometimes the simplest floats are the best, and you don’t get much more simple than the Rubber Dockie Floating Mat! No cupholders, no frills, no coolers. However, what it lacks in features it makes up in high quality construction, an amazing ability to hold up weight, and the ability to roll up easily for when you have to head back to the dock. The Rubber Dockie Floating Pad (and many look alike competitors) made waves a number of years ago and is known for its superior quality and “bungee cord” tether that comes in handy off of your boat as it becomes the life of the party for kids and adults alike. We (of course) recommend the biggest size but the Rubbie Dockie comes in both an 18′ x 6′ Size and a 9′ x 6′ size.
3. Intex Splash ‘N Chill, Inflatable Relaxation Island
If you came to the lake to party and catch up with friends then this is the raft to do it on. Comfort is key with the Intex Splash ‘N Chill, Relaxation Island as it offers 4 full sized seats with back and head rests and a triple “lounger” section for some heavy duty chillin’! Just hope that none of your friends get too crazy because there will be a lot of bouncing back and forth when people are trying to get on or off this beast of a raft. Luckily Intex provides a couple of ramps to get on and off. Otherwise you can always swim up through the the middle and probably scared your friends in the process! People who purchased it really like the size: It is huge and and probably fit more people than advertised, especially kids. The cupholders have plastic sleeves so that makes it a lot easier to use them instead of just a plain vinyl cupholder. As with all of these “beast” inflatable floats the biggest complaint is that it acts like a sail if you tie this up to your dock overnight or similar and the dreaded “leak” has ruined a few people’s weekend, so it is suggested that you fill it to test it before you head down to the lake. This one is definitely an over the top attention grabber and a must have if you are looking to chill out with 6-7 of your closest friends!
4. Solstice by Swimline Inflatable Floating Dock
I have been searching far and wide for a solid inflatable floating dock and I think I finally found what I was looking for with the Solstice Inflatable Floating Dock. It is a SOLID float and it matches the “unicorn” combination that I was looking for including a dock that acts like a real dock but it is still inflatable and portable to take it with you! Now, I am going to have to warn you that the price of the Solstice inflatable dock may shock you (the biggest one approaches $1,000) but answer this question: would you rather buy 2 or 3 other inflatable docks and risk them not being sturdy or risk a leak, or would you rather buy the right inflatable dock the first time and have it totally meet all of your expectations? Some things I really love about this series of inflatable docks from Swimline is that the standard rectangular docks come in a variety of sizes depending on what you are looking for. In addition, they started to increase their product line by offering a raft that looks more like a nice floating hot tub (hot water not included) and a dock that comes with a built in slide! Major kudos for a new, exciting, innovative design and even MORE kudos for making a solid product! Now, I am not going to guarantee that this inflatable raft isn’t going to spring a leak (I have thrown away many floats in my days) but this series has a great chance of impressing you and your friend with a really fun, comfortable, portable dock and can hopefully last for a number of years.
5. Intex Giant Inflatable Floating Mat
The Intex Giant Inflatable Floating Mat is pretty similar to the other “floating mats” on the list but it does have a few differences that we wanted to point out that make this one of the best floating mats out there. First and foremost is the PRICE. A lot of the other mats out there cost $400, $500, and even more (sky is the limit in this category). This Intex Mat? Under $100! That alone is worth a look. This mat is very highly rated by people who have purchased it. It is worth nothing that this mat is an inflatable mat, so it’s not as sturdy as the typical solid “foam” mat that everyone and their mom has on the back of their boat nowadays. That means that it’s a little more difficult to walk on so you have to keep an eye on the kids a little more: more frequent falls will lead to more frequent “head knocks”, kids getting under the mat, etc…. You always have to watch the kids around one of these mats anyhow but just something to keep an eye out on this one especially. Otherwise it’s a very sturdy and comfortable floating raft, adults love to lounge on it, and the design is actually pretty nice because the “waffles” allow water to get up on the raft pretty easily so you can stay cool if you are sitting on top. Another bonus to the Intex Giant Inflatable Floating Mat is that it IS inflatable so it you want to transport it somewhere it is infinitely easier than a traditional “roll up” foam raft to get around on your boat. This one is definitely on the top of our list for a great value and a very fun raft to have with you on your boat!
6. Huge Inflatable Floating Island 7 Person Raft Lake Float with Cooler
If you want a suntan without compromising on the time you get to spend with your friends or family, Tropical Tahiti Floating Island is what you need. This island has two sun tanning decks in addition to five seats making it great for a group of seven people. It is ideal for hosting parties too thanks to the two built-in coolers that can hold and keep beverages chilled. Eight cup holders ensure there is more than enough space to put your drinks. A platform in center provides access to seats and decks. For people who are looking for a small private island of their own to relax and spend vacation in, this raft is exactly what you should buy.
7. Bestway CoolerZ Rapid Rider Quad Inflatable Raft
Bestway Coolerz Rapid Rider Quad Inflatable Raft is another great inflatable float for people who like to spend their holidays or vacations together on water. There are four seats each with its own backrest and with a mesh bottom at the water level to make the experience comfortable and relaxing. The central area provides access to water to cool off your feet. Four cup holders are included one for each individual ensuring no fights will break among kids regarding who keeps his drink where. Additionally, there are two built-in coolers that can be reached by anyone sitting in the raft (probably the best feature I have seen on an inflatable raft to date). This raft was built to be able to handle a float down a river so people who purchased it are impressed with the high quality of the raft. To keep it anchored, there are a number of tie-off points provided to secure the float. And you don’t have to be impatient when inflating and deflating it thanks to the lightning valve that makes the process faster. Bestway Coolerz Rapid Rider is made of heavy-duty PVC and comes backed by a one-year warranty.
8. WOW Stadium Islander Lounge
If you require an inflatable floating lounge for a family reunion or a group comprising of a dozen individuals, the WOW Stadium Islander is exactly what you need. This island lounge allows you to spend your whole day partying at the cove or simply floating about. There are 12 mesh seats provided ensuring adequate seating. The oasis in the center acts as an entry and exit to lounge, a swimming pool for kids and for dipping your feet in. For keeping the Stadium Islander in place, a large grommet is provided for tying a rope along with an anchor bag that can be filled with sand or weight. This offering from WOW is one of the largest among all inflatable islands and is great for big gatherings.
9. Intex Oasis Island Inflatable 5-Seater Lake/River Floating Lounge
For a small family or a group of friends, the Intex Oasis Island is a great way to enjoy at the lake. It can accommodate 5 adults on its seats each of which have a cozy backrest and armrests for spending time lazing, partying or lounging. There are four cup holders provided to hold beverages or drinks while a mesh center allows feet to keep cool. A rope ladder is provided on the side for entering or leaving the raft. To keep the raft in place, an anchor bag is included that maybe filled with sand or weights. Overall, Intex Oasis Island meets all requirements to be the perfect companion for fun times in the water.
10. Airhead Sun Comfort Saddle
The Airhead Sun Comfort Saddle falls into the “simpler is better” category again. Noodles have held the spot for easy floatables for a long time but the floatable “diaper” and other similar products starting showing up about 10 years ago people and people began sitting on these a bunch more. From personal experience (please save the weight jokes) I know that you need a solid 2-3 noodles to get a good float so if you can use one diaper or saddle instead then it’s well worth the price for the convenience. The original saddles from ten years ago typically had a coating on them that would eventually fail and expose the soft insides of the float (and eventually rip in half).
This Airhead Sun Comfort Saddle is probably like a third generation saddle because they started to make them out of a closed cell “Ecocell” foam that is environmentally friendly and super durable. They are really simple, they keep you up above the water better, and you no longer have to wear your life jacket as a “diaper “ to have a comfy seat in the water! These are not inflatable like the other floats we are reviewing but I can’t help but mention these glorious floats in this article since they are vital to a good “dock” day or “coving” day on the lake!
11. RAVE Sports Inflatable Pontoon Slide
There are a few different slides out there that you can use on your pontoon boat but RAVE Sports Inflatable Pontoon Slide stands out above the rest. Some of the notable features that help you enjoy a great time on the lake include molded foot steps, safety straps to tie back to the boat, and centering tubes. The best part is that a pump comes with it and it rolls up tightly so it can be shoved underneath a seat when your pontoon boat is on the move! The RAVE Sports Inflatable Pontoon Slide is a solid 10′ long so it’s a great size to pair with your pontoon boat. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve tried to get some boats together and some of the kids are bored out of their mind. This bad boy will buy AT LEAST an hour of solid fun time with kids and adults alike! People who have purchased like how thick the material is and there is a nice BONUS feature that is a bit of a “life hack”: If you purchase a simple sawhorse you can pretty much set this thing up wherever you want, whether you set it up off of the dock or you put it next to your backyard pool, it’s not just useful with a pontoon boat!
12. WOW Sports Foam Pool Noodle
The WOW Sports Foam Pool Noodle just seems like a noodle at first, but people who have purchased it have been quite impressed with it, and have given it very high ratings compared to the average “noodle” out there. It’s nice because it is super thick, and it is super comfortable since they manufacture it with a vinyl coating (triple dip) to make it slip resistant yet still has a nice feel to it. Again we like the “simple is better” approach and the best part of these noodles is that there are a few ways to use it (just like the traditional old school noodle) including like a saddle, with your arms resting on top of it, or like a swing. They come in a few different colors and WOW Sports makes a special noodle to fit a “beverage” in a can holder if you are so inclined! These are made for both kids and adults since the weight limit goes all the way up to 250 lbs!
13. Jasonwell Beer Pong Pool Float – Inflatable Floating Beer Pong Table
Who doesn’t love beer pong? How much cooler would it be if you were wading in the water the whole time?? This inflatable beer pong table from Jasonwell is nice because it comes with a built in cooler and a ton of built-in cup holders for the game itself as well as for extra drinks! A couple of notes if you want to get this bad boy going off of your pontoon boat: Make sure that the body of water that you are playing in is “clean” enough for you to be mixing with the drinks that you are drinking, or at least bring plenty of fresh water to rinse off with! Also, if you are playing this in a lake or deep body of water be sure to bring some other floatables to sit on while you are playing like the Airhead Saddles above! Purchasers of this ingenious beer pong table love it because the cupholders fit a regular Solo cup well, there is a smaller “cup holder” specifically made for ping pong balls, and for most it seems like it holds air well. For the unlucky few it sometimes showed up with a small leak but with the cost of this table it’s worth a shot!
14. Aqua Glide Water Park
Aquaglide’s water park isn’t just one floatable, it is a HUGE assortment of inflatable water features. The only reason the waterpark isn’t at the top of the list is because most of the features are so gigantic that we wouldn’t even think about putting them on a pontoon boat. Just to name a few features you can get the following from Aquaglide to build out your “water park”! Bouncing Dome, Catapult, climbing structures, slides, climbing walls, hamster wheel, see saws, volleyball courts, trampolines, pools, rafts, towables, and the list goes on and on. if it has ever been a dream of yours to setup a huge inflatable water park then Aqua Glide is a good place to start.
15. Magic Swim Inflatable Pool

Have you ever thought to yourself “man this is great floating next to my pontoon boat, but I would really like to be chilling in a pool right now” or “I hate fish and can’t see anything below me in this lake”. If so, then the Magic Swim Inflatable Pool is the PERFECT solution for you. These crazy Europeans designed a floating pool that you can hook up to the back of your pontoon boat (or any other boat for that matter)! It comes complete with floating sides and an adjustable bottom with microholes so that you can hang out in style on the back of your boat. The “cool” factor puts this pool at the top of our list!
